The 2013 European Championships
According to information from the ETU Magazine there will be a lot of action in Europe this year: Moldova will organize the U21 in April; Romania the Cadets in August and Portugal the juniors in September.
The Executive Council of the European Taekwondo Union (ETU) entrusted this year, 2013, the organization of the three European Taekwondo Championships to the following countries:
Moldova From April 18-21 Moldova will organize in Chisinau, the European Taekwondo U21 Championship. The last U21 Championship was held in Athens, Greece from June 14-17, 2012. At that time, the first winner country was Russia with 3 gold medals, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals and the second place was Portugal with 3 gold medals.
Romania From August 20-24, 2013, Romania will organize in Bucharest the European Taekwondo Cadets Championship. The last Cadets Championship was held in Tbilisi, Georgia from July 7-10 2011. The winner country was Turkey with 7 gold medals, 1 silver and 4 bronze medals and Russia the second with 4 gold medals, 1silver and 7 bronze medals.
Portugal From September 26-29, Portugal will organize in Porto the European Taekwondo Junior Championship. The last Junior Championship was held in Pafos, Cyprus from October 6-9, 2011. At that time, the winner country was Russia with 6 gold medals and 1 bronze medal and second place was for Turkey with 3 gold medals and 7 bronze medals.
ETU General Assembly Additionally, the action will continue with the ETU General Assembly that will be held on August 23, 2013 in Budapest. It is expected that all ETU Member countries will attend this important meeting, where, two important issues will be decided:
