Daedo PSS
USAT chooses Daedo PSS
USA Taekwondo (USAT) and Daedo have reached a sponsorship agreement which stipulates that all USAT members will be able to use Daedo PSS for their competitions from now and throughout 2016, unless a different company is named for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Daedo PSS will be used at the US Open Taekwondo Championships, as well as in the state qualifier championships, national championships and team trials. At a state level, the use of the PSS system will be available to all athletes of every belt and category, while at the nationals, team trials and US Opens the system will be required for all categories and ages. After being used at the London 2012 Olympic Games, Daedo has been chosen to supply its PSS at the Puebla 2013 World Championships as well. While USAT has decided to use Daedo PSS for the next four years, the Pan American Taekwondo Union (PATU) has signed a two year exclusivity contract with the Korean company KP&P, although its PSS has never been used in the region before. As USAT informed, the decision of using Daedo PSS will bring stability to the club membership when it comes to knowing which PSS is going to be used in the United States, particularly regarding club member’s concerns in changing equipment. The USAT and its members also valued the inclusion of an Opt out clause in case another system was selected for the Olympic Games in 2016. Source: WTM
