Sajad Mardani won a Silver Medal
Sajad Mardani gained a silver medal after defeating against his opponent from Gabon in the final round.
In the 5th day of the World Taekwondo Championships, with 872 participants from 134 countries, Sajad Mardani, the athlete of the 8th weight category, could beat his rivals from Uzbekistan and Canada in the 1st and 2nd rounds.
In the quarter final, he overcame the Italian athlete, 14-2.he could beat the representative of Cuba who was the medal winner of London Olympic Games 2012 in semi-final and seized the Silver medal.
So far, Iran has won 3 medals in the World Taekwondo Championships. The other 2 medals were achieved by Behnam Asbaghi and Hadi Mostean.
