WTF Technical Committee to set the compass for Taekwondo
For the last few years, Taekwondo has experienced dramatic changes as an Olympic sport yet it continues taking up challenges for the future. The World Taekwondo Federation has organized a meeting where its Technical Committee will gather to discuss several topics which are crucial for the progress of this sport, such as: - PSS - Electronic head gear test event - New Recognized mat - Improving design of kyorugi dobok - Grand Prix - Para-Taekwondo - Team competition - Improvement of Referee program - Expanding Olympic categories This meeting will take place from January 13th to 15th at the Taekwondowon, which is located in Muju (Jeolla-bukdo), Korea. WTF President Dr. Chungwon Choue and Secretary General Jean Marie Ayer will meet with the Technical Committee Chairman Jin Bang Yang, Competition Committee Chairman Philippe Bouedo, Referee Committee Chairman Chakir Chelbat, BTCB Kyoguri Director Gary Hall, USAT CEO Bruce Harris and WTF Executive Council member Kook Hyun Jung, among others, in order to determine the next steps that Taekwondo needs to take in the near future.
