Iran prepared to hold world armies taekwondo competition
July 15 – Deputy-defence minister and the head of World Armies Taekwondo Games Headquarters has said the defence ministry is well-prepared to hold the competitions.
Brig. Gen. Nosratollah Ezzati said that Islamic Republic of Iran's Armed Forces has full preparation to hold the games in the 'best manner possible.'
"As the defenders of peace and security, and given the CISM's strategic message of propagation of peace through sports, the Islamic Republic of Iran's Armed Forces are resolved to host the games to display a beautiful manifestation of the friendship through sports," added the deputy-minister. "We predict to see proper hosting conditions with the best measures taken and planning made," added Dr Ezzati.
Seyed Mohammad Pouladgar, head of Iran's National Taekwondo Federation expressed hopes that the Islamic Republic of Iran would be a good host for CISM. "Given the very good infrastructure of the federation, we definitely have the necessary preparation to host the games," he said. The competitions headquarters public relations office announced that 22nd round of the competitions will be held in Tehran, August 14-21 2014 with Iran's defence ministry hosting.
The office also said that army athletes from Russia, Colombia, Tunisia, Iraq, China, Brazil, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Afghanistan, Syria, Pakistan, Jordan, Vietnam, Indonesia, Guinea, and Armenia will participate in the games.
