Iran claimed the Bronze Medal of World Cup 2014
Iran National team had to settle for the third standing of World Cup 2014 due to the disorganization of the host.
18th World Cup, which was a G2 event, was held on 6-7 Dec. 2014 in Queretaro, Mexico. While Iranian squad landed in the first position of the chart on 6th Dec., they were downgraded to the third place on 7th Dec. because of the interferences of the organizing committee.
Mexicans started the competitions an hour later, stopped in the middle of one of the matches to fix the problem of scoring system and finally resumed the competitions without electronic body protectors.
At the conclusion of 18th World Cup, Russia claimed the title, and Mexico, Iran and Korea gained the second and third places respectively.
The representatives of Iran in this event, Farzan Ashourzadeh, Alireza Nasr Azadani, Masoud Hajizavareh, Farzad Abdollahi, Mahdi Khodabakhshi and Mohammad Bagheri Motamed, succeeded in adding 7.20 points to their Olympic ranking each.
