Daedo and PATU Sign Deal Until 2016
The Pan American Taekwondo Union (PATU) and the Spanish company Daedo have signed a sponsorship agreement which establishes that all official events held in the region within the next two years (2015 and 2016) will use Daedo PSS to help referees decide the final score of the combats.
As a result, all Senior, Junior, Cadet, Para-Taekwondo and even Multi-sport Games to be held until December 31, 2016 shall use Daedo PSS.
In fact, the Protector and Scoring System designed by the Spanish brand has been already selected and approved by the Organizing Committee of the Toronto 2015 Pan American Games as the official supplier of the Taekwondo competition. Regarding the use of electronic head gears in this event, WTM can only confirm that the final decision will be announced very soon.
On the other hand, the competitions listed as category ‘G’ in the official calendar of the WTF will keep the power to decide whether to use Daedo or KP&P for their combats, a decision that will be taken by each of the organizing committees.
After this new agreement, the current sponsoring landscape between Daedo and the Taekwondo continental unions stays like follows:
- ETU (European Taekwondo Union): 01/01/2013-31/12/2016 - UTO (Oceania Taekwondo Union): 01/09/2013-31/08/2017 - AFTU (African Taekwondo Union): 01/01/2015-12/31/2016 - PATU (Pan American Taekwondo Union): 01/01/2015-12/31/2016 We can also confirm that Daedo has renewed its recognition contract with the WTF until until the end of 2016, which includes both the traditional PSS and the electronic head gear as WTF approved materials.
