Ambassador of South Korea: Iran is one of the Greatest Powers of Taekwondo in the World
The Opening Ceremony of 37th National Championships which was held under the title of Korean Ambassador’s Cup was held on 25 Nov. 2015 at Ghadir Sport Complex.
This event brought 233 senior athletes from 32 following provinces together:
East Azerbaijan, West Azerbaijan, Ardebil, Isfahan, Alborz, Ilam, Boushehr, Tehran, Chahar Mahal and Bakhtiari, South Khorasan, Khorasan Razavi, North Khorasan, Khouzestan, Zanjan, Semnan, Sistan and Balouchestan, Fars, Qazvin, Qom, Kordestan, Kerman, Kermanshah, Kohgilouyeh and Boyer Ahmad, Golestan, Gilan, Lorestan, Mazandaran, Markazi, Hormozgan, Hamedan and Yazd.
The Opening ceremony of this event was held with the presence of Seyed Mohammad Pouladgar, President of Iran Taekwondo Federation, Kim Seung Ho, Ambassador of South Korea in Iran, Oh Sung Ho, Cultural Advisor of South Korea, Yeonchae Jung, Managing Director of LG Company, Ali Khalili, Head of Tehran Taekwondo Division, Mohammad Esmaeil Azarpad, Head of Technical Committee of Iran Taekwondo Federation, and other champions and sport authorities of Iran Taekwondo Federation.
In his speech, Kim Seung Ho said, ‘I would like to welcome all athletes and coaches who have participated in this event and appreciate all those who contributed to holding 3rd Korean Ambassador’s Cup. This is the first Korean Ambassador’s Cup I attend. I hope in the following years we could have teams from other countries and change Korean Ambassador’s Cup to an International event. Iran is one of the greatest powers of Taekwondo in the world and I wish we could have further development of taekwondo in Iran through mutual cooperation of Iran Taekwondo Federation with South Korean Embassy.
At the end of this event, Iran Taekwondo Federation awarded the Ambassador of South Korea and LG Managing Director who contributed to holding 37th National Championships under the title of 3rd Korean Ambassador’s Cup.
