Iran and Uzbekistan won the Gold Medals of Male Categories in Rio
The representatives of Iran and Uzbekistan won the Gold medals of the male categories in Rio Test Event. Iran had 2 representatives of this G-1 event that was held on 20-21 February 2016. Armin Hadipour succeeded in gaining the Gold medal of -58 kg but Omid Amidi could not have any achievements in +80 kg.
Totally, 8 athletes in -58 kg and +80 kg male categories and 8 athletes in -49 kg and -57 kg female categories won medals.
Armin Hadipour, that could be an alternative for Farzan Ashourzadeh in the Olympic Games, added 10 points to his ranking and stabilized his place within top 20 ranks of -58 kg. Omid Amidi, that could be an alternative for Sajjad Mardani in the Olympic Games, however, should continue his efforts to enter the top 20 ranks of +80 kg.
Bijan Moghanlou and Mahdi Bibak led Iran National team in Rio Test Event as head coach and coach.
Iran National team has already gained 3 quotas of Rio Olympic Games in -58 kg, -80 kg and +80 kg by Farzan Asourzadeh, Mahdi Khodabakhshi and Sajjad Mardani respectively.
