Results of 1st World Taekwondo President’s Cup
World Taekwondo President’s Cup was held on 7-10 April 2016 in Bonn, Germany. On the first day of this G-2 event, Croatia senior athletes shone after collecting 2 out of 4 golds, becoming the only nation to clinch more than 1 title in the same category. The other two gold medals of the senior divisions were taken by Turkey and Serbia.
In Juniors, the first 4 countries to taste gold were Russia, Hungary, Turkey and Germany, all of them with 1 title each, while in Cadets, Germany, Spain, Russia and USA were the ones who climbed to the top of the 4 first podiums of the event.
Croatia took its third title of the event as Turkey clinched 2 more titles to rocket its balance to 3 golds as well after the second and third days of action were completed at the inaugural edition of the President’s Cup 2016.
Azerbaijan, Romania, Cyprus, Spain and Great Britain took the first golds of the event between Friday and Saturday.
On the 4th day of 1st President’s Cup, Turkey won its fourth gold medal after the fourth and last day of action was completed to stand out as the nation with the most titles. Great Britain and Serbia took their second gold as Netherlands won its first title to complete the Senior divisions.
