Iran Female Athletes Heading to Philippines



Iran National female team, comprising Kimia Alizadeh and Akram Khodabandeh, will head to Philippines on Tuesday morning for participation in Asian Qualification Tournament for 2016 Rio Olympic Games. This event will be held on 16-17 April in Manila.

Akram Khodabandeh will represent Iran in 4th Olympic weigh category and Kimia Alizadeh in 2nd Olympic weight category.

Akram is going to fight with 5 opponents from Tajikistan, Philippines, Nepal and Kambuj. Kimia’s 9 rivals are the athletes from Cambodia, India, Nepal, Afghanistan, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia and Oman.

Minoo Maddah and Mahroo Komrani will accompany the female team as head coach and coach.

The winners of Gold and Silver medal in this event will win the quota of 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
