Iran Male Team Crowned as the Champion of 22nd Asian Championships
Iran male team claimed the title of 22nd Asian Taekwondo Championships with 5 medals for the 5th time.
Totally, 239 athletes from 36 countries participated in this event that was held on 19-20 April 2016 in Manila, Philippines.
Iran gained the first standing with 3 Gold, 2 Silver and 56 points. The second and third places went to Korea and Uzbekistan with 45 and 28 points respectively.
Iran’s representatives in this event were Armin Hadipour, Mirhashem Hosseini, Abolfazl Yaghoubi, Alireza Aliyari, Saeid Rajabi and Pouria Erfanian.
Iran National team was led by Seyed Nemat Khalifeh as head coach and Payam Khanlarkhani as coach.
Iran female team gained 3 Bronze medals but could not gain any standing in this event.
