Visit of the Sport and Youth Minister to the Camp of the National Team
Mahmoud Goudarzi, the Minister of the Sport and Youth, visited the male and female Olympic teams of Taekwondo in the World Taekwondo Center on 25 June 2016 in order to check the condition of the camp as well as the physical and mental status of the Olympians.
After visiting the athletes and talking to the coaches about the training process, Mahmoud Goudarzi said, ‘Taekwondo is one of our hopes in the Olympic Games and we hope they can continue their trend of achievements in this great event too.’
Iran has achieved 1 Olympic quota in the female category and 3 quotas in the male category by Kimia Alizadeh, -57 kg, Farzan Ashourzadeh, -58 kg, Mahdi Khodabakhshi, -80 kg, and Sajjad Mardani, +80 kg in the Taekwondo Competitions of Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
