Following the historical achievement of Kimia Alizadeh in the Rio Olympic Games, Professor Kyu Seok Lee, the President of ATU sent the following message of congratulations to Iran Taekwondo Federation:
Dear Mr. Seyed Mohammad Pouladgar, Congratulations to the Iran Taekwondo Federation and its athletes on the success at the 2016 Rio Olympics. We have really enjoyed your achievements during the Olympics. All the preparation, effort, and development were visible through the athlete performance. As the Continental Union of Asia, we are proud of everything your athletes have accomplished for Taekwondo. Your athletes will arrive home knowing that they have given delight to many people in Asia as the Asian continent had cheered for them. We know that this sort of success does not come easy for anyone, and this is an accumulation of many years of diligence, passion and determination. After all, your athletes have inspired the world, whether young or old. There will be more young athletes aspiring to become a Taekwondo Olympic medalist upon seeing the great performance through the media. At the end, I congratulate the athletes for all the hard work and effort. And I want to say ‘Good Luck!’ in the following years to come. Best Wishes, Kyu Seok Lee President, ATU
