Pourrahnama: I am happy that Para-Taekwondo entered 2020 Paralympic Games
Mahdi Pourrahnama, the Iranian Para-Taekwondo athlete said, ‘We expected to have Para-Taekwondo in 2016 Paralympic Games because many Para-Taekwondo champions will not be able to participate in 2020 Paralympic Games due to aging.
Mahdi Pourrahnama competed with the representative of Russia in 2016 Olympic Games in a demonstration match in order to showcase this discipline to people all around the world.
Mahdi, 1st ranked athlete of his weight category in WTF World ranking, won his Russian opponent who has the 2nd ranking 15-6.
Pourrahnama said, ‘every Para-athlete dreams to win the Gold medal of the Paralympic Games and I will do my best too but it’s too early to set a plan right now.
Hossein Modanlou accompanied Mahdi Pourrahnama as head coach in 2016 Olympic Games.
