Invited Teams to World Taekwondo Team Championships 2017
Tehran Nov 2017— the list of invited teams to participate in World Taekwondo Team Championships 2017 was unveiled.
To participate in the World Taekwondo Team Championships 2017 that will be held on Dec 5th -6th in Abidjan- Cote d'Ivoire, WT announced the list of invited teams as follow:
In male category: Iran, South Korea, Russia, Azerbaijan, China, Chinese Taipei and one team will be selected by WT technical committee and Cote d'Ivoire.
In female category: China, South Korea, USA, Russia, Turkey, Serbia, one team will be selected by WT technical committee and Cote d'Ivoire.
The criteria of mentioned teams selection was as follow:
The WT will invite top two placed team of male and female teams from "Baku" 2016 World Taekwondo Team Championships, and top four placed teams of male and female teams from "Muju" 2017 World Taekwondo Championships as well as one recommended team of male and female teams by WT technical committee. 2.2 Host nation of the Championships shall be automatically invited.
In male category, the total weight of 5 competing athletes shall be 373kg or less.
In female category, the total weight of 5 competing athletes shall be 318kg or less.
Each team may bring maximum six (6) athletes including one (1) substitute to the Championships.
Only one (1) substitute is allowed to stand by for each team match and can replace any of the five (5) competitors for once after the first round of match and Round-robin system in preliminary group stage – competitions within each group of teams - and single elimination system in semi-finals though finals shall be applied.
