World Taekwondo fulfills General Structural changes
July 2018-- World Taekwondo (WT) announced a major structural change and personnel reshuffle, designed to further strengthen the efficiencies within the Federation.
According to WT website , The overall organization of the Federation will be re-organized under three departments: Sport & Event Management; Member Relations & Development; and Administration & Finance. New policies will also be implemented alongside the restructure, including strengthening good governance within World Taekwondo.
Administration & Finance department will oversee World Taekwondo’s finances, accounting, HR and domestic relations in Korea it will be led by Eilchul Kim,.
Sport & Event Management department will manage all taekwondo and Para taekwondo related sporting functions. The department will also be responsible for event operations, medical and anti-doping as well as broadcasting it will be led by Jay Lee,.
Member Relations & Development department will coordinate with the Member National Associations (MNAs) and Continental Unions to oversee development, education and sport-for-all programs and activities. It will be led by Jeongkang Seo.
World Taekwondo President "Chungwon Choue" said: “We are constantly looking at ways of streamlining our organization to ensure that we are operating as effectively as possible and can provide the best possible service to our athletes, our members and our fans. After undertaking extensive consultation, we are confident that the new structure and re-profiling of roles will best serve the World Taekwondo family going forward. By implementing evaluation criteria and new policies into our systems, we expect to deliver even better outcomes and perform our responsibilities more efficiently.”
