Oct 2018—Sweden will host U21 European Championships 2019.
According to WTE official web site, After Grozny in 2016, Sofia in 2017 and Poland in 2018, the taekwondo youth championship moves to northern Europe , the Under 21 European Championships 2019 have been designated to the city of Helsingborg in Sweden. Sweden, which has not hosted any taekwondo events at least for the past five years and actually represents a Nordic crossroad, it will facilitate the athletes and teams of the surrounding Nordic countries and northern Europe as well. We are certain that the Organizing Committee will live up to the expectations of a European Championship and a successful event for the city and its people. And according to inside the games website, Research conducted by the Swedish Sports Confederation showed taekwondo had enjoyed 28 per cent growth in the six-year period. Taekwondo ranks third, behind figure skating and gymnastics, on the list published by the Confederation. The development comes after the Swedish Taekwondo Federation (STF) was reinstated as a member of the European Taekwondo Union in 2016. The STF was initially suspended in October 2014 when the ETU became aware that the statutes of the Federation were not in compliance with the continental governing body, or those of World Taekwondo.
