IRI Team participates in World Taekwondo Team Championships 2018
Tehran Nov 2018—"Shahrdari Varamin" Club will be the IRI representative in World Taekwondo Team Championships 2018.
To participate in World Taekwondo Team Championships 2018, "Shahrdari Varamin" Club departs to UAE as IRI representative, the Iran team composition is as follow:
Athletes :Soroush Ahmadi, Mirhashem Hosseini, Sina Bahrami, Amirhossein Omidi, Mahdi Khodabakhshi. Head coach: Payam Khanlarkhani, Coach: Hashem Zanganeh, Head of Team : Seyed Hassan Mir.
Eight (8) Teams per gender division will be invited as well as mixed gender team: Selection of the teams shall be made as below:
Men’s division (8 Teams) Iran1 st place in Abidjan 2017 World Taekwondo Team Championships Russia 2nd place in Abidjan 2017 World Taekwondo Team Championships Korea 1st place in Wuxi 2018 World Cup Taekwondo Team Championships China 2nd place in Wuxi 2018 World Cup Taekwondo Team Championships Cote d’ Ivoire 3rd place in Abidjan 2017 World Taekwondo Team Championships Uzbekistan Active Participation in previous Team Championships TBD To be decided U.A.E Host Country.
In order to form the male and female team, each team must enter 4 athletes in minimum and in maximum of 5 athletes including 1 substitute.
Each team can designate 4 starting athletes and 1 substitute athlete per contest. The athletes shall be numbered from 1 (lightest) to 4 (heaviest)
The all contests shall be carried out for 4 rounds (4 minutes of 1st round, 3 minutes of 2nd round, 4 minutes of 3rd round, and 4 minutes of 4th round) with 1 minute break between rounds.
The team that reaches 40 “Gam-jeom” in total shall be declared as loser at any time during the competition.
Male Team: The total weight of 4 competing athletes shall be 300kg or less.
Fujairah 2018 World Taekwondo Team Championships is G-2 team ranking event. The following ranking points will be given to the male team, female team, and mixed gender team respectively. - 1st Placed team: 20 points - 2nd placed team: 12 points - 3rd placed team: 7.2 points - 5th placed teams: 4.32 points.
