The results of Manchester 2019 World Taekwondo Championships;
IRAN, victim of British political game
The 2019 world Taekwondo championships came to the end while Iran's 18 years presence on the global platform was victimized by the unfriendly behavior of British Embassy as they did not issue visas for two Iranian athletes.
According to the Public Relation's departments of the Taekwondo Federation of Iran, the 24th World Taekwondo Championships (2019,15-19 May) which took place in Manchester, England, participated by 975 athletes from 150 nations plus one refugee team from all over the world, ended and awards were presented at the end of the closing ceremony. Our Taekwondo athletes in the men division who had been preparing themselves and practicing hard for the big global event in Manchester during last 5 month, were definitely shocked before flying to the UK.
Eventually, Mirhashem Hosseini and Erfan Nazemi lost the opportunity to participate in the event. The Manchester 2019 world Taekwondo Championships drew to a close with Korea, China and England finishing top followed by Russia and China. At the end of the competition, south Korea won 4 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze in total (male and female), England earned 3 gold and 1 Bronze and China took 2 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze. Thailand, Russia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Italy, Cuba, Mexico, Brazil and Iran in total (male and female) ranked as well.
