MUJU- The host city of World Taekwondo Championships 2017 at one glance.
From 1973 to 2015 world taekwondo championships was held 22 times in different countries and 2017 championships will be the 23rd time.
South Korea 6 times was the host of the mentioned championships except for 2017.
Since 1973 in all world taekwondo championships in the male category South Korea was the champion except for 2011 & 2015 when Iran got the first place. Also in the female category since 1987 again South Korea got the first place in all world championships except for 2009 when China got the champion.
In the total medal ranking, South Korea with 254 gold, 53 silver, 50 bronze and in total 357 medals is in the first place and Iran with 35 gold, 29 silver, 34 bronze in total 98 medals located in the second place.
Spain, Chinese Taipei, USA, Turkey, China, Russia, France and Mexico are in the next places.

T is the first letter of each word in the slogan '' taekwondo tiger, training together'' and expresses the identity and values of the competition.
"A-rang"
"A-rang" refers to ' unique Korean sentiments on the basis of hope", the 2017 WTF World Taekwondo championships held in Muju, a place that lies at the center of Taekwondo, will become a festival of global unity. Based on this hope, the circular emblem for championships has been selected to be a friendly personalization of white tiger.
