Iran's Armed Forces participate in 7th CISM World Games
Iran's Armed Forces with 8 taekwondo members, participate in the 7th CISM World Games which is held in Wuhan, China.
According to the Public Relations Department of the Iranian Taekwondo Federation, the 7th World Arms Taekwondo Competitions(CISM) is being held in Wuhan,China, on 23rd _26th October and 244 athletes from 47 nations are participating and competing to get valid point for access to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The technical taekwondo squad of Iran's Armed Forces includes: Iman Akbarzadeh(_54kg) Mohammad Hasan Palang Afkan(_58kg) Kamran Mardanipour(_63kg) Mohammad Mahdi Emadi(_68kg) Amir Mohammad Bakhshi(_74kg) Erfan Nazemi(_80kg) Babak Abbasi(_87kg) Hasan Baghgraee(+87kg)
The Military World Summer Games are a multisports event organised every four years, one year before the year the Olympic Games are organised. It is an event that is based on the CISM and Olympic spirit, without political, religious and racial consideration nor discrimination.
The Team is led by Mohammadreza Zavvar as the head coach and Ali Naeemi and Mahdi Lotfizadeh as the coaches. Furthermore, Amir Ali Rostami is head of team. This event is G2 and the gold, silver and bronze medal winners garnished 20, 12 and 7.20 points. The event help participants collect points to qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
