Korea International Broadcasting Foundation in Iran
A three-member crew of South Korea's Arirang TV has arrived in Tehran to file interviews with Iranian female athletes and officials, as well as Taekwondo practitioners, and document Iran's achievements in Taekwondo.
The crew, which arrived in Tehran on Jan. 29, 2013, is planning to make a special documentary about Taekwondo that realizes the spirit of peace and harmony and is the only Olympic sport that allows women to wear a hijab in competition.
The crew is also planning to shoot footages of young Iranian girls who are learning Taekwondo as well as members of Iran’s national Taekwondo women’s team with the purpose of bringing wider understanding of the Taekwondo spirit to other parts of the world.
Taekwondo has been the first Olympics sport in which Iranian female athletes have ever succeeded to grab a spot.
Korea International Broadcasting Foundation, Arirang TV, was established through the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of the Republic of Korea, aiming to showcase Korean culture, current affairs, economy, and social lifestyle to a global audience.
