The Iranian male Taekwondo team grabbed the first place of the 2011 World Taekwondo Championships, standing atop world nations and bringing Koreans' 40-year long dominancy to an end.
Capital Yousef Karami and fellow partners, Alireza Naserazadany and Farzad Abdollahi bagged three gold medals for the Iranian team. Mohammad Bagheri Motamed earned the silver in a controversially judged final match, which led to a six-month long ban for the jury and brought a great deal of criticism to the referees. Korosh Rajoli, and Meysam Bagheri also received bronze medals.
